The order picker is responsible for preparing and shipping orders to the warehouses. He or she must be able to collect products, pack and load orders for on-time delivery. The order picker should be able to follow safety procedures and company policies while working quickly and efficiently.
Main responsibilities:
- Order preparation: The order picker is responsible for collecting the products ordered, verifying their conformity, packaging and loading them into the delivery vehicle.
- Follow up procedures: The order picker should follow safety procedures and company policies for order picking.
- Inventory Management: The order picker should be able to maintain an accurate inventory of products in the warehouse and report any discrepancies to their line manager.
- Cleaning: The order picker should ensure that the warehouse is clean and tidy at all times.
Skills required:
- Previous experience in order preparation is desired.
- Ability to read and understand order instructions
- Ability to work quickly and effectively.
- Basic computer knowledge for data entry.
- Good physical condition and ability to lift heavy loads.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
Education and experience required:
Most employers require a high school diploma or equivalent. A background in logistics or warehouse can be an asset. Prior experience in order preparation or in a similar position is often required.
Remuneration:
The hourly rate for an Order Picker varies according to geographic region and experience. On average, the rate used by Onestaff's partner establishments is €14.00 excluding tax/hour.
