The Night Auditor (or night auditor) is an employee in the hotel industry who is responsible for managing hotel accounting and security during the night. The Night Auditor generally works at night and is responsible for verifying all transactions made during the day and entering them into the hotel's accounting records. He should also ensure that guests have a safe and comfortable stay by monitoring activities in the hotel and responding to guest requests.
Key responsibilities:
- Verify and enter all hotel transactions in accounting records, including guest payments, food and beverage charges, telephone call charges, etc.
- Compile and produce financial reports for hotel management, including revenue and expense reports, account management reports, sales and tax reports, etc.
- Monitor hotel security by monitoring the activities of guests and employees during the night, maintaining the safety of the premises, and responding to emergency assistance requests.
- Respond to guest inquiries and address issues they may encounter, such as complaints, inquiries, and service requests.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as checking inventory, managing last-minute bookings and cancellations, preparing invoices, etc.
Skills and qualifications:
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work with guests from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Basic knowledge of accounting and hotel property management systems.
- Ability to work independently, be organized, and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Strong observation and surveillance ability to ensure the safety of the hotel during the night.
- Computer and data processing skills for entering and producing financial reports.
Education and experience:
A degree in hospitality, business administration, or accounting is preferred for this position. Employers may also require prior experience in the hospitality or accounting industry. A background in first aid and emergency management is also an asset for this position.
Remuneration:
The hourly rate for a Night Auditor varies based on geography and experience. On average, the rate used by Onestaff's partner establishments is €16.00 excluding tax/hour.
