The life assistant is responsible for helping people in a situation of dependence or loss of autonomy to carry out the tasks of daily life. He/she may work in people's homes or in establishments such as nursing homes. Caregiver duties include helping with the toilet, dressing, feeding, shopping, cleaning, and administrative tasks. He/she must also ensure the psychological well-being of the people he/she accompanies.
Main responsibilities:
- Help people in a situation of dependence or loss of autonomy in daily tasks
- Ensuring the comfort and well-being of people while respecting their dignity
- Do the shopping and prepare the meals
- Perform household chores (cleaning, laundry, ironing, tidying up)
- Ensure medication and routine care under the supervision of a health professional
- Accompany people during their trips and medical appointments
- Participate in the organization of social and cultural activities for dependent persons
- Report on their work and observations on the health status of the person he/she accompanies
- Work closely with health professionals to ensure the quality of care and patient safety.

Education and experience required:
- State diploma for social work assistant (DEAVS) or State diploma for educational and social support worker (DEAES)
- Continuing training to keep up to date with changes in the profession and care techniques.
Remuneration:
The hourly rate of a caregiver varies according to geographic region and experience. On average, the rate used by Onestaff's partner establishments is €16.00 excluding tax/hour.
